Sidney Mushingue, Chief Executive Officer, Umoya Trust Zambia

“Umoya Trust Zambia was founded from a deeply personal place. I have always carried a strong passion for Zambia — for our communities, our families, and especially for the vulnerable members of our society who too often go unseen or unsupported.

As I spent time observing the growing needs among our elderly population and vulnerable adults, I recognised a clear gap in accessible, dignified, and professionally delivered care services. Families were struggling to find safe residential options. Individuals needed medical support, mobility assistance, and trustworthy carers. I knew something had to be done.

Umoya Trust Zambia was established to provide a structured, professional solution — a care home that accommodates up to 20 residents, supported by medical access, pharmacy services, community carers, and equipment hire. My vision was to create a service that families could rely on with confidence — a place where dignity, safety, and quality care are non-negotiable.

My motivation has always been twofold: a genuine love for Zambia and a desire to serve people with integrity and compassion. My faith is important to me, and I believe that honouring God is reflected in how we treat others — especially those who need care, protection, and respect.
